REVIEW #412 Wolfs (2024)

SYNOPSIS

A ‘fixer’ is hired to cover up a high profile crime but soon finds his night spiralling when he’s forced to work with an unexpected counterpart.

REVIEW

It’s hard to dislike any movie led by a pairing of Brad Pitt and George Clooney, they work incredibly well together and they execute the perfect balance of comedy and drama to portray a truly authentic relationship between the two characters. Unfortunately, despite their charisma, the films script just wasn’t exciting and failed to deliver a strong, satisfying conclusion and instead we are presented with a rather anti-climatic finish! That being said it does have a wholesome touch to it but it’s not quite enough to shift my impression of the movie. It had all of the components there to really thrive, a template reminiscent of The Nice Guys which has become really popular over the years. Perhaps with a different writer a sequel could improve significantly and with Apples backing, I certainly wouldn’t be surprised, but I don’t think Jon Watts is going to hand over writing credits any time soon.

RATING: 6.5 Out of 10
