Equipped with the new duties of being the islands first way finder in centuries, Moana is guided into a new adventure by her ancestors.

THE REVIEW

Moana 2 has took some unnecessary heat since its release, but the box office certainly hasn’t felt the same pressure! Personally I found the highly anticipated sequel to be enjoyable in all aspects, not necessarily an improvement in all areas but one that continues Moana’s story in a heartfelt way, upping the stakes and the rewards for the character too! I do think that the songs were slightly disappointing, with no real catchy tunes to come away with, enjoying in the car ride home. The story on the other hand was very interesting, adding a few characters to Moana’s crew gave the film a little freshness, some new personalities to enjoy. Meanwhile, providing some tougher obstacles for the character to overcome in spectacular fashion. I won’t spoil the ending (although I did guess it pretty early on), but it certainly elevates Moana to new heights and it has left me wanting to see what comes next in the next step of her journey. So as far as sequels go, this won’t go down as an all timer, but it certainly wasn’t a wasted one because it’s still a whole lot of fun, with plenty of emotional notes to reel you in as well.
