REVIEW #440 The Electric State (2025)

The Electric State

Synopsis

In a world ravaged by a war between robots and humankind, Michelle risks it all in the hope of saving a brother she once thought lost.

My Review

$320m dollars later and we are presented with a forgettable sci-fi film that fails to distinguish itself, a recycled story of robots vs mankind, where the humans are the ones lacking humanity! I’d be lying if I said I didn’t have a bit of fun with this one, despite its glaring flaws, it had its moments and the visuals were a vast improvement over the rage baiting, carefully selected stills that were circulated around socials. But the writing is truly awful, to think that there are people being paid to write, what I can only describe as absolute slop, is a travesty. It’s unimaginative, unoriginal and includes the most basic of overarching storylines, partly salvaged by some likeable characters like Herm. We’ve always had films like this, little adventure films that are entertaining and an easy watch, but when they become some of the most expensive films ever made, it brings the industry into disrepute!

My Rating: 5 out of 10

Thanks for reading.
