My Review

I’m ashamed to admit just how late I am to the Big Hero 6 party, but now I’m here, I can confirm that it is one hell of a party! The vibrant designs and incredibly heartwarming story combine to create one of the most creative Pixar films thus far. San Fransokyo feels like Pixar’s take on a neo noir city and is probably one of my favourite locations from any of their films. In a world where the studio is pursuing sequels left right and centre, I’m surprised this likeable group of heroes haven’t received another instalment. The tech driven, boy genius story might be the selling point but the brilliance of the film sits within its foundations; family, friendship and kindness, personified through Tadashi and extended into Baymax. The visuals also include an array of beautiful shots that drive the messaging home in a truly artistic manner.

My Rating: 8.8 out of 10
