REVIEW #433 Tron Legacy (2010)
Tron Legacy
Synopsis
Years after his game developer father disappears without a trace, misfit Sam Flynn is transported into a virtual game with very real, life or death consequences.
My Review
Tron Legacy has a strong concept, but for me it struggled in its execution. The world building and special effects were impressive, transporting the audience into a futuristic environment that illustrated a game come to life on screen. That CGI only went so far though, the de-aging technology used on Jeff Bridges was so jarring, I would have just preferred them to cast someone else for the younger version of his character instead. My overall feeling towards the film is that it just felt like there was so much left unexplored and what we did dive into, wasn’t as captivating as the parts teased in the story. But it has left me pretty excited for the upcoming sequel.
My Rating: 6 out of 10
