REVIEW #456 Together (2025)
Together
Synopsis
At a crossroads in their relationship, Tim and Millie up and move to the countryside. But instead of finding an answer to their problems, they stumble upon something far more sinister.
My Review
There is no denying that Together’s exploration into codependency and body horror felt fresh and inventive but unfortunately it didn’t really excel at any one thing enough, to stand out amongst stiff competition from within the genre this year. I’m certainly not saying it wasn’t enjoyable, it was a fun watch with captivating performances from both Alison Brie and Dave Franco, but I came away feeling pretty indifferent about it and that shows all of the signs for a film being forgotten pretty quickly! Michael Shank’s attempt to explain the unexplainable through the predictable cult sub plot, was a little bit too safe and as someone who usually hates things being left unexplained, Together could have benefited from leaving things a little more mysterious.
My Rating: 6.8 out of 10
Thanks for reading.
