My Review

Good Luck Have Fun Don’t Die wraps up an important message about society’s reliance on technology and the dangers of AI, in a wildly fun, entertaining movie! Sam Rockwell is as charismatic as ever and lights up every scene he is in, drawing plenty of laughs from the entire audience. The messaging is pretty on the nose, in line with similar themes seen in Black Mirror, so I would say it’s not entirely original but the film format does present it in a fresh new way for us to enjoy. The individual character flashbacks were interesting, but they did begin to drag slightly, taking us away from the present day storyline for a little too long in my opinion. But when we did return, this unlikely band of heroes were hilarious together!

For me, the twist for Rockwell’s character was really obvious, which reduced the impact of the final act slightly, but I did love how they concluded the film and it felt like a perfect fit for the overarching storyline. This is definitely one to watch if you’re looking for a bit of fun this week!

My Rating: 7 out of 10
