REVIEW #395 The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare (2024)

SYNOPSIS

Winston Churchill and a band of military officials hatch a plan to neutralise Hitlers fleet of German U-Boats during world war 2.

REVIEW

Guy Ritchie utilises the likes of Henry Cavill and Eiza Gonzalez really well here, both delivering enjoyable performances that add a certain degree of charm to the movie. Some have criticised the lack of female characters here but that’s a load of nonsense as far as I’m concerned, this is a World war 2 movie based on a secret operation, I highly doubt it was flooded with women during that time period. Not to mention Eiza is probably the lead character! Nonetheless it’s enjoyable, fun but albeit slightly forgettable at the same time. It doesn’t quite replicate the same level of storytelling quality compared to Ritchie’s recent successes such as The Gentleman but it’s perfectly watchable.

RATING: 6.5 out of 10

Thanks for reading.
