REVIEW #403 The Nice Guys (2016)

SYNOPSIS

Two paths of two private detectives cross due to their involvement with Amelia, a women caught up in a world of violence and mystery.

REVIEW

The Nice Guys has deservedly attracted a cult following after its unsuccessful box office and rightly so! The chemistry between Russel Crowe and Ryan Gosling is unmatched and it’s the duo we all never knew we needed. The pairing find the perfect balance between humour and heart and in the setting of the private detective world, there is just a goldmine of material to work with. The storyline itself is gripping but because of how well the leads work together, the overarching narrative kind of takes a back seat and I mean that in the best kind of way. I, like many others, hope that these recent popularity might push the studio to green light a sequel, it’ll definitely be worth it.

RATING (8.5/10)
