REVIEW #427 We Live In Time (2024)

We Live In Time

Synopsis

Brought together by an unexpected encounter, Almut and Tobias embark on a wonderful love story that’s challenged by the limitations of time.

My Review

We Live In Time utilises the amazing chemistry of its lead actors Andrew Garfield and Florence Pugh and perhaps my appreciation for these two actors helped establish some positive bias for the film but that’s a bias I am willing to embrace, after all there’s a reason we have our favourite actors in the industry! It explores a complicated love story using a non-linear approach and one that is constructed really nicely to introduce the different themes at the perfect moments. It tackles ambition, heartbreak, illness and parenthood, all wrapped up into this super emotional and incredibly relatable story, that had me choking up at multiple points. This romance doesn’t break any new ground, but it’s rare to find an addition to the genre that does these days, nonetheless it sticks to the genres strengths and created something that I had an absolute blast with.

My rating: 7.8 out of 10
