REVIEW #434 Hurry Up Tomorrow (2025)

Hurry Up Tomorrow

Synopsis

Struggling with insomnia, the pressure of a worldwide tour and a recent break up, global superstar The Weekend is pulled into a spiralling nightmare when he meets a mysterious woman.

My Review

Hurry Up Tomorrow feels like one big Vanity project for The Weekend, one that lacks originality and substance. Trey Edward Shultz does try to salvage the film with a pretty inventive style but even the cinematography and overall direction was still hit and miss. The film has glimpses of quality but then reality comes crashing back with an abundance of pretty cringeworthy duologues. To waste the talents of Barry Keoghan and Jenna Ortega is criminal but even their performances were not up to their usual quality, restricted by a poor script. If I’m being completely honest, the opening 15 minutes is one of the worst I’ve seen from any film in recent times. One to skip in my opinion.

My Rating: 3.5 out of 10
