REVIEW #446 F1 (2025)
F1
Synopsis
After 30 years away from F1, Sonny Hayes is called back to the pinnacle of racing to help save a struggling team from collapse.
My Review
F1 is everything a movie should be in the modern age, an exhilarating theatrical experience that leaves you helpless when it comes to getting caught up in the emotion of it all! We all know the final outcome, these types of films only end one way, but despite that, every race pulled me in further, fuelling us with adrenaline as we’re immersed into the world of Formula 1. Experiencing it in IMAX emphasised that immersion, with impeccable sound design and camera work that overwhelms the senses and allowed us to get the slightest glimpse inside the wild life of these incredibly talented athletes.
Brad Pitt epitomises movie star aura and it coincides perfectly with the type of character that Sonny Hayes is, it’s a fantastic bit of casting and the same can be said for the supporting cast who are both infectious and impressive. The chemistry that develops between the Apex team over the course of the film, delivers the heart and soul of F1 and I found myself pretty emotional come the end, caught up in the pure joy of it all. I’ve never really had an interest I the sport, perhaps that helped from an enjoyment perspective, perhaps not, but I’ve come away entertained beyond measure and with a great respect for the science, the risk and the skill that goes into it all.
My Rating: 9 out of 10
