REVIEW #406 Beetlejuice (1988)

SYNOPSIS

When a young couple meet an unfortunate end and return as ghosts to their country home, they’re forced to try and find a way to scare off their new inhabitants.

REVIEW

Beetlejuice still holds up 36 years later, with abstract visuals and practical effects that light up the screen and takes audience on a wild ride inside the mind of director Tim Burton. Michael Keaton is captivating as the iconic supernatural being Beetlejuice and the rest of the cast contribute to create an overwhelmingly fun movie. It’s not a masterpiece from a technical standpoint, but it does well to place itself as a go to Halloween movie that fans return to each and every year, speaking volumes to its quality.
